Camshaft sprocket and VCT bolts are critical bolts designed for tightening camshaft gears or variable camshaft timing sprockets inside a vehicle’s engine. Their main function is to guarantee a precise axial load. The basic task of these bolts is to keep the camshaft gears or variable camshaft timing sprockets with the exact timing as that of the crankshaft.
When the crankshaft turns and makes the piston go up, the camshaft should necessarily have closed the valves to go into compression. If one of these movements loses timing, even of the tiniest bit, compared to the other, the engine is heavily damaged.
