Multipurpose bolts are generic bolts used to fasten all accessory components of the engine and car. As the name itself says, these fasteners can be used for different purposes, so not just inside the engine, but also for fastening other parts of the vehicle more exposed, such as the hatchback or the headlamps. Their use usually varies depending on the car model and on the specific choices of the manufacturer.
MULTIPURPOSE BOLTS
These bolts do not belong to the critical bolts category, although they are custom-made bolts.
Basically, their production must meet specific requirements regarding corrosion resistance and specifications often altered by the international standards.

Our experience enables us to forge multipurpose bolts having geometries ranging from M5 to M20, and lengths ranging from 10 to 300 millimetres.
#Brugola OEB
Brugola OEB multipurpose bolts are the result of a long experience and of the utmost attention to the unique and specific needs of each customer. Every fastener that we produce comes up to the Total Quality and Zero Defects principles.
Brugola OEB makes about 120-130 million multipurpose bolts every year.
The main characteristics of cylinder head bolts
Multipurpose bolts come in the most varied shapes. They usually have an 8.8 and 10.9, rarely 12.9, strength class. Brugola OEB is however able to produce this type of multipurpose bolts up to class 15.9, developing, if necessary, additional strength classes. Our experience enables us to forge multipurpose bolts having geometries ranging from M5 to M20, and lengths ranging from 10 to 300 millimetres.
As regards the tightening system as well, we can make the most common heads and wrench sizes, such as the torx, Brugola wrench and the Polydrive®, of which we have filed the patent. Like for all the fastening elements we produce, we are open to considering any type of design meeting the manufacturer’s particular requirements for the multipurpose bolts as well.
The multipurpose bolts come in both the elastic field and the plastic field, and therefore require a constant coefficient of friction.
The experience gained in designing and making top quality critical bolts with excellent performance makes our production of multipurpose elements even more reliable.
We have always put the same passion, knowledge and precision into every bolt we produce, pursuing the Zero Defects and Total Quality goals.
Out of the entirety of its production, every year Brugola OEB makes about 120-130 million multipurpose bolts used by car makers for a vast number of purposes, both inside the engine and for fastening other car components. For some time our core business has been critical bolts of the engine, such as cylinder head bolts, main bearing cap bolts and con rod bolts, which are those fastening elements subjected to extreme stresses or in any case which are essential for proper engine operation.
Likewise, we are open to the electric car market with the production of bolts compatible with the electrification and high voltage of the vehicles of tomorrow, such as the electric motor bolts and the co-moulded bolts. This preferential attention to the key fastening elements of the motor and to the new market demands however does not prevent us from also offering our customers safety bolts such as the wheel bolts and nuts, and standard bolts for several uses, like the multipurpose bolts.
An integral part of our know-how is the attention we pay to preventing the hydrogen-caused embrittlement phenomenon starting from the production stage, with the use of an extremely innovative raw material preparation technology.
We are reliable partners for our customers also in the production of multipurpose bolts. Since 1926 – the year of our establishment – we have made technological innovation and research our banner to be able to offer solutions that combine quality with practicality. By relying on our values, today we are able to offer a wide assortment of fastening elements that range from the most elaborate customisation to the higher quality multipurpose bolt, to be at the side of our customers for any request, from the simplest to the most challenging.
